TURGUTREIS MUNICIPALITY INFRASTRUCTURE WORKS
Turgutreis Municipality has, during the past few years invested heavily not only in touristic facilities but also in infrastructure in the town. The municipality informed the press that 100 km. of roads have been constructed in the past 9 years.
Turgutreis Mayor for the last 9 years Ali Server Yazgan gave these statistics: “100 km. of road, 150,000 m2 area tiled with stones, 250,000 m2 area covered in tarmac, 40 km of asphalt road improved and 100,000 tons of asphalt used.
150,000 m2 green area created
Mayor Yazgan indicated there was 150,000 m2 green area created in Turgutreis and continued: “we have planted 1,200 palm trees, 2,000 benjamin’s fig trees and 1,000 citrus trees. 5 km of coastal arrangements, including 2,000 lightings for these green spaces, 15 children’s parks and a botanical park under the name of famous businessman Şevket Sabancı have also been constructed for Turgutreis.
Port Project For Turgutreis
The mega port project that’s planned to be finished in 3 years time is expected to rejuvenate the tourism industry in Turgutreis. Mayor Yazgan said they were waiting the positive results of the efforts of Turgutreis Municipality and continued: “we are waiting for a positive response from the authorities for our project and our efforts. Turgutreis is ideally located for such a venture and could contribute significantly to national tourism”.
