BACKGROUND OF MAYOR YAZGAN

Turgutreis Municipality Mayor Ali Server Yazgan was born in Afyonkarahisar in 1954, a son of a family from Bodrum, Turgutreis. He graduated from Aegean University Engineering Faculty, specializing in Structural Engineering. His first work was to open a construction office here in Turgutreis. He is the member of many social clubs, sport clubs and societies. He has hopes of transforming the Aegean into a sea of friendship between the Turkish and Greek nations. He believes close relations between the Greek islands of Cos and Calimnos, and the Bodrum peninsula will help better the lives of both sides.

Mr. Yazgan has a characteristic trait to always take decisions for the future and think long-term. He has plans to open Turgutreis to international waters through the construction of a port. Projects are under way for a port that is to connect Turkey with European ports like Marseille, Brindisi, Venice and Ancona.

His goal,ever since he’s taken office has always been “to serve the people”.

He is serving the second time mayor from Motherland Party. Mr. Yazgan has improved Turgutreis always listening and in collaboration with the locals.

Mr. Yazgan is married to Mrs. Belgin Yazgan. They have a son called Serkan who is a university student.
